What You'll Learn
You've mastered basic tumbling. Now you need skills that differentiate you from the rest of the field. This program focuses on acrobatic elements with D-value and above in the Code of Points.
Advanced acrobatics require both physical preparation and mental readiness. A side aerial demands precise spatial awareness and commitment. You can't hesitate halfway through. We build up to these skills through progression drills that reduce fear while developing the necessary technique.
Technical Progressions
Each advanced skill breaks down into component parts. For aerials, you'll work on one-arm cartwheels, raised surface progressions, and spotted attempts before going for the skill on floor. This methodical approach minimizes injury risk while building confidence.
Connection bonuses matter at advanced levels. A front aerial connected directly to a front tuck is worth more than performing them separately. You'll learn how to set up difficult connections and drill the timing until they become automatic.
The program includes dedicated sessions for mental preparation. Advanced skills involve controlled falling through the air. Your brain resists this. We use visualization techniques and progressive exposure to help you overcome natural fear responses that block skill acquisition.
Expect significant physical demands. You'll need explosive leg power, exceptional core stability, and above-average flexibility to execute these skills properly.
